Executive Management Team

Dr. Bruce D. Holenstein, President and CEO

Dr. Bruce D. HolensteinDr. Holenstein leads all aspects of the company as our President and CEO. He started company operations with his brother, Paul, in 1980, and is presently leading the company through the changes needed to accommodate significant future growth. His technical fields of expertise include algorithms, mathematical modeling, availability architectures, data replication, pattern recognition systems, process control and turnkey software development. Dr. Holenstein is a well-known author of articles and books on high availability systems. He received his BSEE from Bucknell University and his Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Paul J. Holenstein, Executive Vice President

Paul J. HolensteinMr. Holenstein has direct responsibility for Gravic Labs and the Shadowbase Products Group. Mr. Holenstein enjoyed entrepreneurial activities with his brother, Bruce, from the beginning. His technical areas of expertise include high-availability designs, data replication technologies, heterogeneous application and data integration, communications and performance analysis. Mr. Holenstein holds many patents in the field of data replication and synchronization, and has co-authored the three volume series "Breaking the Availability Barrier." He received his BSCE from Bucknell University and his MSCS from Villanova University.

Mr. Victor F. Berutti, Senior Vice President

Victor F. BeruttiMr. Berutti leads the Remark Products Group. He joined our company in 1986 after working in the software industry as a computer software contractor. His technical areas of expertise include image scanning, pattern recognition, user interfaces, optical character and mark reading and user requirements analysis. Mr. Berutti received his BSCS from Bucknell University and his MSCS from Villanova University.

Ms. Denise L. Holenstein, PHR, Director of Finance and HR

Denise L. HolensteinMs. Holenstein manages all facets of the financial and HR areas of Gravic since joining the company in 1995. Previous to Gravic, she was a manager of quality assurance for the BAR division of Control Data and Arbitron. Ms. Holenstein received her BA in English and Economics from Bucknell University and her Masters in Human Resource Development from Villanova University.

 

Senior Management Team

Mr. Chris Davison, Director of Product Development, Remark Products Group

Chris DavisonMr. Davison leads the team of software engineers responsible for developing and maintaining the Remark product line of paper- and web-based data collection products. He joined the company in 1993 in a QA role. He is proficient in application architecture and design, software development, data transformation, image handling, optical mark recognition hardware and software, peripheral control, network administration and system security. Mr. Davison received his BS in Biology from Grove City College and pursues graduate course work in Computer Science at Villanova University.

Mr. William G. Holenstein, Sr. Manager of Product Support, Shadowbase Product Group

William G. HolensteinMr. Holenstein manages the QA and Product Support departments for the Shadowbase product line. He joined our organization as a software developer in the late 1980's. During his time with the company, Mr. Holenstein worked at many professional services sites, performing a plethora of software tasks ranging from data acquisition, heterogeneous connectivity and high level application software on a wide range of platforms. He regularly participates in Shadowbase customer installations and software projects as either a team leader or project manager. Mr. Holenstein received a BA from Villanova, and is currently working on an MBA degree at Penn State University.

Ms. Nora A. Petchkofski, Sr. Manager of Product Management, Remark Products Group

Nora A. PetchkofskiMs. Petchkofski runs the Product Management department for the Remark product line. She joined our company in 1997 as a Product Support Specialist for the product line, and became a manager in 2000 after gaining a thorough knowledge of our products. In 2004, she moved into the management and planning department, overseeing quality control and assurance, growth development and project management, before transitioning to her current role in early 2007. Ms. Petchkofski received her BSBA from Neumann College.

Mr. Gary E. Strickler, Director of Product Development, Shadowbase Product Group

Gary E. Strickler Mr. Strickler runs Shadowbase software development, a role he has held since joining the company in 1993. He originally authored the high performance process-to-process Shadowbase data replication product suite. Mr. Strickler is the lead inventor of the patent that makes possible bi-directional replication for log reading data replication solutions (USPTO #6,122,630), and he has numerous other issued and pending patents. He started his software development career as a software consultant over twenty-five years ago after graduating from Maxwell Institute, and is an expert at designing enterprise-class, mission-critical data distribution solutions. Currently, he is leading the Shadowbase product development effort in the creation of cooperative processing product solutions based upon our Gravic Labs IP.
