In July 2011 Microsoft released a Windows 7 security update, KB 2507938, which causes an error to appear when opening Remark software.  This error states:

Automation Error
Invalid Access to memory location

If you receive this error after installing this Windows 7 security update, you will need to downloaded the latest update for your version of the software.  For Remark Office OMR 8, this download is available from http://www.gravic.com/remark/support/updates.html.  For Remark Office OMR 7, the download is available from http://www.gravic.com/remark/support/office/rooarchiveupdates.html. If you are still not able to open Remark after installing the update, please contact support@gravic.com for additional assistance.
