Remark Products Group Readme Notes for Remark Office OMR 6.0.3 Update August 2006 ----------------------------------------------------------- (C) 2006 Gravic, Inc. Thank you for using Remark Office OMR 6. The Remark Office OMR 6.0.3 update adds some new enhancements and corrects a few minor problems since the original 6.0 release. To install the update, double click the Roo603up.exe file to launch the update and then follow the on-screen instructions. ------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATED MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The minimum system requirements have been updated to the following (as of the 6.0.2 release). ** Please note that Windows 98 is no longer supported. This operating system is being phased out by Microsoft. For more information, go to www.microsoft.com. • Personal computer with a 1 GHz or faster processor • Microsoft Windows 2000, XP or Server 2003 • 512 MB RAM o Important Note: Analysis reports require memory to run. Lengthy or graphic-intensive reports may take longer to run; you may need additional memory to run these reports. • 250 MB free hard disk space to install software • 1 GB free hard disk space recommended to use software • Screen/monitor resolution of 1024x768 or higher and at least 16-bit color (32-bit color recommended) • Mouse • CD-ROM drive (for installation purposes) • Supported scanner (recommended) • Windows-supported printer (optional) ------------------------------------------------------------- The following enhancements were made: ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3063. SAVE SCANNED IMAGES AS JPG FILES When scanning forms in the Data Center, you may now save the resulting image files as JPG files. You will find this setting in the Read Wizard. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3401. ABILITY TO SPECIFY FONTS The ability to specify a font, font size, and character set to use throughout the application was added. You will find this setting under Tools|Preferences|Custom Font. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3464. ENHANCED DATA ENTRY The grid used for data entry in the Data Center was updated to allow the following: 1) The data grid is no longer case sensitive and will now auto select an answer for you when you begin typing. 2) If you tab to a cell, you can begin typing the answer. Sometimes the software did not select that cell and you had to click in the cell before you could type. When you tab to a cell now, it becomes selected. ------------------------------------------------------------- The following fixes were made: ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3067. ENTERING A REPEAT DIGIT IN OMR REGION PROPERTIES A problem was fixed where when setting up an OMR region in the Template Editor, if you typed the same character in the Columns or Rows box that already existed, it would not accept the character. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3152. CONVERTING GRAYSCALE JPG FILES A problem was corrected where When acquiring a grayscale image in the Template Editor, it looked fine in the preview, but when the image was saved to a black and white pcx, the image showed up all black. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3266. CLASS FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION REPORT ROUNDING The Class Frequency Distribution Report now uses the students' raw score to determine grades. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3357. REVIEW EXCEPTIONS FOR MULTS AND BLANKS The following problems were corrected: 1) When running Review Exceptions, you could not select BLANK or MULT from the drop-down list. 2) Related to #1, when running Review Exceptions, if you selected the last item in the list, it put the item in the field but flagged it as a MULT. If you select the second to last item in the list, it put the item in the cell, but flagged it as a BLANK. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3365. ANALYSIS RESPONDENT ID DELIMITERS ON REPORTS The "Delimiter between multiple respondent IDs" setting under Tools|Preferences|Report Display was updated to accurately use whatever is selected (Remark Quick Stats). ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3397. RECORD IS TOO LARGE ERROR A "Record is too large" error that occurred when grading or tabulating data was corrected. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3462. CONVERTING NON-STANDARD PAGE SIZE TEMPLATES A problem was corrected that occurred When converting templates from earlier versions of Remark Office OMR and the page size setting was not converted correctly when using a custom page size. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3463. REVIEWING EXCEPTIONS USING THE KEYBOARD Review Exceptions was updated to bypass the following issue: When using Review Exceptions, you can type the first character of the answer and the software figures out which answer choice to pull from the list. For instance, if your answers are A,B,C,D,E and you type 'a' it will pick 'A'. However, if you were reviewing items quickly, you could time it so that the conversion from 'a' to 'A' did not occur. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3488. TYPING SHIFT + CERTAIN LETTERS IN THE DATA GRID A problem was corrected where you could not use the Shift key plus a letter that was already represented in your answer labels when manually entering data in the grid (e.g., if your response labels were A, B, C, D, you could not type Shift + A in the cell).
