New and Updated Features
New Features:
- Email Client – Remark Web Survey has a built-in email client so that you can send invitations, reminders and thank you notices to web form participants. Simply enter email addresses and names (optional) and customize the body of the email. Remark Web Survey will do the rest of the work for you using your existing SMTP server. When combined with the password protection feature, you can utilize names and email addresses entered on the Login page to generate emails. In addition, you can track responses and send the report right to the email client in order to send reminders to those who have not submitted your form or thank you notes to those who have completed the form.
- Sendmail Support – If your web server is configured to use a local Sendmail server, Remark Web Survey can utilize the Sendmail server for sending submission emails or when sending pause page email reminders to respondents who have paused a form in progress.
- Form Scheduling – Remark Web Survey allows you to set a timeframe for when a web form is active. You can specify the date and time to open and close the form for respondent submissions. If respondents attempt to access the web form outside of this timeframe, they will receive an appropriate (and customizable) message.
- Respondent Capping – Remark Web Survey allows you to determine how many responses you want for your web form. You can specify an upper limit, and when that limit is reached, respondents will receive an appropriate (and customizable) message if they attempt to access the web form.
- Answer piping – With Remark Web Survey, you can take a respondent’s answer and “pipe” it into a different question or label. For example, you may ask for the respondent’s name. Once this information is submitted, you can insert the name into another question on your web form to make it more personalized (e.g., “Joe, please rate the following aspects of your customer experience”).
- Randomized Answer Choices – For each question you can randomize the answer choices, meaning that they will be displayed in a different order every time someone views the web form. Randomized answer choices help to eliminate bias and the ability to look at another’s responses.
- Popup Info Page – You can insert a Popup Info page that displays pertinent information about your web form. There are no questions on Popup Info pages. The pages can be used to provide more detail about the web form’s questions, hyperlinks to other pages for added detail, etc… the possibilities are endless.
- New Interface – the Remark Web Survey interface has been completely overhauled and fits with the style of Microsoft Office 2007. The menus have been replaced with a ribbon and an administrator control panel has been added to the main window to make form operations easily accessible.
- SMTP Authentication – When using email functionality with an SMTP mail server, Remark Web Survey supports CRAM MD5, plain and login authentication. Once authentication is setup on the mail server, Remark Web Survey will be able to utilize it for submission emails.
Updated Features:
- More Layout Options – Many changes have been made so that you have more control over how your web forms look and feel. The following have been added/enhanced:
- Sections: The addition of sections allows you to place questions in columns going across the page instead of being limited to only placing questions one after the other vertically down the page.
- Headers and Footers: You can format headers and footers and then choose the pages on which you want them to appear. Headers and footers are great for static information you want on multiple web form pages (logos, copyrights, privacy notices…).
- Buttons: Buttons have been made into their own elements, which allows you to place them anywhere on the page.
- Style Sheets: Style sheets have been overhauled so that you can quickly format web form elements and apply that formatting to an entire web form. Style sheets can be saved and reused as needed.
- Remark Quick Stats® – Remark Quick Stats has been overhauled with the same updated look and feel and new reports available with Remark Office OMR® 6.. New features include a Survey Wizard for benchmarking and grouping questions and a demographic comparison report, giving you more reporting power.
- Confirmation Page Update – When respondents reach the Confirmation Page (a page that displays the questions with their answers) they can now click a link for any question that will take them back to the question to make changes.
- Enhanced Database Linking – Database Linking (the ability to link a question to an external database) has been updated so that when you return additional fields from the external database you can customize field names and use the information as respondent identifiers on analysis reports. There is also a Database Sync function that helps you quickly reconnect to a database if it has been moved or renamed.
- Update to Required Checkbox and Drop-Down Box Questions - Checkbox and Drop-Down Box questions can allow more than one response. Now, even when the question is set to required (must be answered) or is set with a maximum number of responses allowed, you can output responses as separate questions in the data grid. This option gives you more flexibility to collect the data in the format that you need.
- Printing – Remark Web Survey allows you to print an entire web form with one click. Printing the form provides a convenient way to proofread the form prior to publishing.
A breakdown of Standard vs. Professional features is also available.
