Thank you for using Remark Web Survey 4. The Remark Web Survey 4.0.1 update adds some new enhancements and corrects a few minor flaws since the original 4.0 release. To install the update, double click the Rws401up.exe file to launch the update and then follow the on-screen instructions. ------------------------------------------------------------- The following enhancements were made: ------------------------------------------------------------- Q3844. RESPONDENT DETECTION EXPORT UPDATED When exporting information from the Respondent Detection screen, what you see on-screen will now be exported, instead of the entire list of recipients. For example, if you are viewing missing respondents only and choose to export, only missing respondents will be exported to the file. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4592. LOGGING Remark Web Survey now maintains a log of actions so that if the program closes unexpectedly, any unsaved work will be recovered. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4624. ANSWER PIPE WINDOW UPDATED The Answer Pipe window was updated so that source questions are displayed using Question Text if your current Remark Web Survey tree view uses question text. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4637. SMARTER FIELD NAMES FOR ANSWER CHOICES AS SEPARATE QUESTIONS When you create a question that treats each answer choice as a separate question, the field name entered on the Question Properties screen will apply to the answer items as well. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4669. CURRENT DIRECTORY ADDED TO SCRIPTS The current directory was added to the $cgi_dir global variable in the Remark Web Survey scripts to avoid a potential "CGI Error: Script has misbehaved due to invalid HTML headers" error when using ActivePerl. ------------------------------------------------------------- The following fixes were made: ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4628. PIPES DISPLAY CORRECTLY IN SERVER ERROR PAGES A problem was fixed where the pipe placeholder characters were not replaced with the actual piped response on Server Error pages. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4361. SPECIAL CHARACTERS NOT ALLOWED IN FORM NAMES The following characters can cause issues if included in web form names and are no longer allowed: ! ^ [ ] { } # $. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4633. RESPONDENT ID FIELDS FROM CONVERTED TEMPATES A problem was fixed where Remark Office OMR templates using Database Lookup and replacement fields marked as "Respondent ID" fields did not get set to Respondent ID when converted to Remark Web Survey. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4693. LOGIN PAGE PASSWORD BUILDER STAYS CONNECTED TO DATABASE A problem was fixed whereby after you use a database connection to import a password list in the Login page, Remark Web Survey expected that connection to always be valid. Once the passwords are imported, you do need to have the database connected. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4733. SESSION EXPIRED An error indicating the session expired due to a form submittal was corrected. The error occurred on Confirmation pages during web form completion. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4734. FRENCH ACCENT CHARACTERS IN EMAIL SUBMISSIONS French accent characters were not displaying correctly in email submissions. The Remark Web Survey scripts now support UTF-8 in order to display these characters correctly. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4735. ERROR WHEN DOWNLOADING DATA THAT EXCEEDS 500 RECORDS An error that occurred when downloading data greater than 500 records was corrected. The data grid should expand correctly now when downloading large data sets. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4625/4638. OBJECT REFERENCE NOT SET ERRORS Two Object Reference Not Set errors were fixed that occurred when you had more than one Special page and you selected them all and then changed a property (such as display header), and when uploading converted Remark Classic OMR templates prior to saving. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4629. QUESTION TEXT ALIGNMENT UPDATED A problem was fixed where question text alignment in tables was not impacting the position of the text if it was not in first column. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4632. WEB FORM AVAILABILITY ISSUES CORRECTED Issues related to start and end time being one minute off in the Web Form Availability feature were fixed. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4634. MAX NUMBER OF MULTIPLE RESPONSES NOT CONVERTED CORRECTLY FROM TEMPLATES Remark Office OMR and Remark Classic templates that have questions set to allow a specific number of maximum responses are now being converted to web forms correctly. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4635. ADMINISTRATOR EMAIL ADDRESS NOT UPDATED A problem was fixed where if you setup a web form’s email setting during Session Pause page creation, the Admin email address would not be automatically used as the From address in the Session Pause page reminder settings. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4636. RESET BUTTON ON PAUSE PAGE SENDS REMINDER EMAIL A problem was fixed when you clicked the Reset button on a Session Pause page and it tried to send the reminder email. ------------------------------------------------------------- Q4709. WEB FORM BACKGROUND IMAGES NOT PUBLISHING A problem was fixed where any images used as background images for a web page were not published to the web server. ------------------------------------------------------------- If you discover what you think is a potential problem in the Remark software please let us know.
