Welcome to the Fall 2008 edition of the Gravic Shadowbase Newsletter, our semi-annual news update from the Shadowbase Products Group.
Busy and exciting characterizes the six months since our last update with a number of new solutions deploying, new products debuting, and new employees joining our team. Please visit Dick Davis’ Sales and Marketing Highlights for a short introduction to some of our exciting activities in sales.
We are getting ready to celebrate Gravic's 30th anniversary. Our company was built by great employees, customers and products and has truly lasted the test of time. We thank you all for your help over the years. Look for more about our 30th anniversary in 2009.
For new and upcoming product features, we are busy building efficient synchronous replication solutions. We met recently with various interested customers and potential customers so that we could fully understand your needs in this area. If you have a keen interest in this technology and the availability boosts that come from synchronous replication (e.g. zero data loss at failures as well as avoiding data collisions for active/active environments), please talk with us soon so that we can be sure to address your interests. Although we do not currently have a synchronous replication product available, we are working feverishly to meet your needs in this area. Gravic Labs, our internal intellectual property research and development arm, actively explores our future technology directions, and we will have some interesting discussion forums going as well as some exciting new product announcements based on our white papers in the upcoming months. We also plan to release the fourth volume of our Breaking the Availability Barrier series, focused on the latest active/active technology and continuously available real-time business intelligence systems, in early first quarter, 2009. We enjoyed seeing many of you over this past year, whether it was at one of the many trade shows we attended, or for any of the specific customer or prospect visits.
