The Shadowbase suite of software encompasses Gravic's real-time data replication and data integration solutions for the HP NonStop (Tandem) platform. From the introduction of TMF-Auditor in 1984, Shadowbase software continues to lead the industry in providing low-latency data replication and data integration solutions for the mission critical NonStop community. The key to the success of Shadowbase deployments is its flexibility – the ability to provide continued value to our customers across a wide range of projects, solving a diverse set of business problems. Unlike many traditional disaster recovery replication products, Shadowbase software not only provides extremely low-latency replication between homogeneous databases and systems, Shadowbase software also provide incredible flexibility in selectivity, sophisticated data transformation and mapping, one-to-many or many-to-one configurations, replication between heterogeneous sources and targets, and true bi-directional replication between two or more live production systems and their databases.
A Shadowbase process called the Collector captures changes to NonStop SQL (MP and MX) and Enscribe databases from the NonStop TMF audit trail files via the HP audit reading routines. The changes captured by the Shadowbase Collector process may be sent immediately via EXPAND or TCP/IP to one or more Consumer processes on a target NonStop system for replay into a NonStop SQL or Enscribe target database. Alternatively, these changes may be sent to one or more Consumer processes on the source system for replication over TCP/IP to a target Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, or Sybase database on a Linux, UNIX or Windows system. On these systems the user has the option of directly updating the target or queuing changes and applying only committed transactions.
